Guaranteed Ride
Worried that you might get stranded in an emergency if you join a carpool or vanpool? TRAFFIX is here to ease your fears. The Guaranteed Ride Program offers emergency transportation assistance to commuters who rideshare to work. Once you’re registered, if you ever have to unexpectedly leave work early or stay at work late, you can get a ride back to your point of origin for just $1.50, guaranteed.
- This program is open to commuters who regularly travel to work via carpool, vanpool, HOV Expressway Bus Service, ferry or bike.
- You must be registered in the Guaranteed Ride Program. Registration is free to all eligible rideshare participants.
- You must live or work in the Hampton Roads area.
- The program is available to any registered ridesharer who has an unexpected schedule change, illness or other crises.
- There is a $1.50 fee for each emergency ride.
- Once registered, to make arrangements from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (except holidays) call 1-800-700-RIDE. To make arrangements before 8 a.m. and after 5 p.m., or on Saturday or Sunday call the dispatcher directly at (757) 222-6080.
